This is where the description of the Children's Ministry blog category goes.

I love being spoiled. My wife has spoiled me for over 30 years. My daughters have spoiled their Dad all their life, my employees spoil me at the office on a regular basis. Because I like it so much I want to spoil others. A great goal is to purpose in your heart to spoil your volunteers outside their classrooms as well as in. You’ve heard me say this before, you gain those you serve. It’s a spiritual law. Christ Jesus came to serve not to be served.
Here’s my top 10 List for you to stand out in your church as a leader who serves their volunteers:

No matter how great an individual player you are, a team can make you or break you. I’ve always loved being a part of a team. I love team sports. I love playing in bands. Over the years I have worked hard assembling and developing my ministry team. My least favorite times in ministry have been being on staffs at churches that were all doing their own thing and not functioning as a team.

In summary, remember these seven points:

#3. Your gift will make room for you.

When I was a senior in Bible college, my pastor approached me about helping out at the church. He knew that my major was in Christian Education and that in a few months I would have a degree. The church needed help in this area. They were in the midst of a building program and were going to change their departmental approach to Sunday School (nine classes for toddlers, nursery, and adults) to a graded program which would include a total of 22 classes.

#2. You're not the first to be in this situation.

Acts 18:1-3 tells us that even Paul the great apostle, missionary, and writer of most of the New Testament had to work a trade to make a living. He was a tentmaker.

"Oh, if I were only full-time at the church, then I could accomplish great things in ministry " This has been, and still is, the cry of Christian workers all over the United States as well as the world. But being full-time in the ministry just might not be what you always dreamed it would be.

You gain those you serve. Want to gain children? Serve the needs of kids and families not just the needs of Adults. I don't understand why churches don't understand that there are rewards for serving and blessing children. Matthew 10:42 tells us: "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." If there is a reward for giving a cup of water, imagine the rewards for meeting the rest of their needs.

Here are my top ten list to have power to last over the long haul in children’s ministry.
10.Never loose sight of who called you. Your pastor might have asked you but it was
Jesus who called you! He is with you! Matthew 28:20 tell us, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." God equips those He calls. You already have the power. (The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you!) Over the years I have had to constantly remind myself who called me, who I’m doing what I do for and that He believes I can do what He’s asked me to do. If God is for you, who can be against you? It was not my idea to minister to kids I was seeking the Lord asking Him what He wanted me to do, it was His idea for me to minister to kids. I have seen over and over again that God’s plan for my life is better than any plan I could come up with on my own.
