Everything that is alive is growing. It does not matter if you are talking about flowers, trees, the grass in your yard or people. If it is ALIVE it should be growing. In fact if something is not growing and it's suppose to be alive you better check it, it could be dead!
In the same way our ministries should be growing! God's plan for the Church (the body of Christ) has always been and always will be increase. Matthew 28:19 tells us to Go and make Disciples of all the nations. How can you make Disciples of ALL the nations without growth or increase taking place? I know what you are thinking, "There He goes talking about numbers again, We're not living in the book of numbers, We're living in the book of Acts." Well I agree but the book of Acts is full of numbers. Acts 2:47 says the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Growth was exploding in the book of Acts and it was the Lord who was causing it. Now We Know that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever and if He was the one behind growth in the early church, He's still the one behind it today. As you study the early church and the book of Acts you'll see that every time the church is mentioned along with a number that number has increased. It's plain to see that the church in the book of Acts was growing. It was alive and it was growing. In the same way our ministries need to be alive and growing.
More to come...
