I love tennis! I love to play it, and I love to watch it. I always think I can serve until I watch the pros. It seems like it's not hard to win when they are serving. The same thing is true in our ministries.
Burnout doesn't happen from doing too much. It happens when you stop following your marching orders and stop serving with right motives and heart. The key to success in life is learning how to serve. Mark 10:43 tells us, "Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant. Even leaders must be willing to serve! 1Pet. 5:2 says, "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers --not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve.” Want to see your dreams come true? Serve! To go to my next level in my tennis game I need to work on my serving, the same is true to go to your next level in ministry. In what area of your life and ministry do you need to work on your ability to serve?
